Why Our Training Program?
All to often horses and riders are becoming frustrated with their current training programs. Horses and Mules are displaying unwanted behaviors from mild agitation to bucking, rearing, and bolting. The foundation isn't present in the equine for riders to effectively communicate. The result has riders frustrated and disappointed. And while some horses are not suitable for some riders, most misunderstandings that are resulting in unwanted behavior are merely a loss of communication. Most often equines have not been taught how to balance while carrying a rider. In western riding disengagement of the hind end of the equine as become prevalent, not in just starting horses but is used well into their training, which makes engagement of the hind end hard to achieve. Also equines are often ridden in an inverted frame due to their misunderstanding of the bit, this leads to horses/mules who evade the bit. Evading the bit leads to bucking, rearing, bolting or sometimes lameness issues. This makes green equines hard to ride because an uneducated horse will evade the bit from time to time. Equines must learn to accept the bridle and come back to their riders aids of seat, leg and hands. Our Head Trainer, Molly McDaniel, has 25 years of riding both green and finished equines and will design a program for your horse that will include, trust building, technical skills, and understanding for what the horses needs are.
